Coffee is available once again at the Silo, with the reopening of Peet鈥檚. Its summer hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays (closed on weekends).

The nearby Crepe Bistro and Silo Market are also open on weekdays, starting at 9 a.m.

Other dining options on campus are limited: Latitude and Scrubs Caf茅 are both open for to-go orders only 鈥 Latitude is open every day and Scrubs is open on weekdays. The Coffee House remains closed. All other Peet鈥檚 locations on campus are closed.

Parking permits are back

Transportation Services announced last week that parking permit enforcement will resume Aug. 1, after having been suspended since mid-March due to the pandemic. Also, most permit fees are going up Sept. 1.

A reminder for those of you who formerly paid your permit fees by payroll deduction: Transportation Services canceled all payroll deductions in June 鈥 so, if you want a permit, you鈥檒l need to sign up again, if that鈥檚 how you wish to pay. You should have received an email last week advising how to re-enroll in payroll deduction.

Transportation Services says: 鈥淚f you need a permit for August, take action by July 27.鈥 Even then, you may not receive your permit by Aug. 1. 鈥淲e鈥檙e flexible,鈥 Transportation Services says. 鈥淥ur enforcement teams understand this, and will be providing a grace period for vehicles with a registered permit that is not displayed.鈥

But, hold on. You should also note, there鈥檚 no need to get a permit if you鈥檙e still working from home. And if you need to come to campus occasionally, you can buy daily permits. The daily fee is $10, and it is not going up Sept. 1.

Free Coursera offer extended

Good news from Continuing and Professional Education about 白小姐王中王开奖结果鈥 free-enrollment deal for the bulk of the Coursera catalog for online learning: The offer has been extended through the end of the year.

The deal, which gives staff, faculty and students access to more than 4,000 Coursera courses at no charge, first took effect last spring. At that time, you had until July 31 to sign up and until Aug. 31 to complete your course or courses. Now, with the extension, you have until Sept. 30 to sign up and until Dec. 31 to finish.

Learning is self-paced, and video lectures, peer-reviewed assignments and community discussion forums create a robust, engaging online academic experience. Degree and MasterTrack programs are not available as part of this offer.

Also last spring, Continuing and Professional Education announced a new benefit for staff, faculty and students: free enrollment in 白小姐王中王开奖结果鈥 own courses in Coursera. That benefit is ongoing.
