Serving Up a Good Time at Beach Volleyball

While ��С�� beach volleyball didn’t get a sunny sky for the team’s home opener last Saturday (March 7), a large, supportive crowd more than made up for the drizzly day — and you’ll have a chance to see the team play in the sun on Wednesday (or so says the weather forecast).

Spectators for last weekend’s match — a mix of parents and students from both schools — filtered into the ��С�� Beach Volleyball Facility at Howard Field as the Aggies and the San Jose State Spartans warmed up to a lively playlist of country and pop music.

Taylor Davis was a theater kid who feared forgetting words and messing up lines on stage. When she came to ��С��, she tried out improv comedy on a whim, and Birdstrike Theatre — a student organization — wound up becoming something very special to her. NEWS BRIEFS: Building a ‘Beach’ for Volleyball

One of ��С��’ newest athletic teams will soon have a place to compete on campus. Four sand volleyball courts are under construction on a section of Howard Field just north of the Quad Parking Structure, and are set to be used for competition by the women’s beach volleyball team in the spring.
