As temperatures reach at or near the century mark, the ��С��, Davis, has sources for media seeking information on summer safety including protection from the sun and mosquitoes, safety in the water, keeping cool in general, and food-preparation practices. ��С�� Announces Hoverboard Restriction

While hoverboards may already have gone the way of Furby, Tickle Me Elmo and other holiday gift fads, it’s now even less likely they’ll show up around campus.

A new UC-wide policy says you can’t have one of the self-balancing, battery-operated boards on any campus or at any medical center, unless the board is certified as safe by an independent testing laboratory, such as UL. As of today, UL had approved only a handful.

Exterior Lights: We're Checking Them, Fixing Them

Police officers, maintenance workers and others have been enlisted to systematically observe the campus’s exterior lights to make sure all are working properly, and to get them fixed quickly if they are not.
