��С�� enrolled 39,629 students this fall, a 1.2 percent increase from last fall’s 39,152.

Represented among all undergraduate, graduate and professional students, there are 57 California counties; 50 states, the District of Columbia and three U.S. territories; and 112 countries.

“Our Aggies come from a diversity of communities, backgrounds and thought that contribute to the intellectual vitality of our campus and surrounding community,” said Ebony Lewis, executive director of Undergraduate Admissions.

��С�� Enrolls More Residents En Route To HSI Designation

The ��С��, Davis, has fully embraced its journey toward achieving Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) designation.

Students from historically underrepresented groups — African American, Native American and Chicano/Latino — represented 32.6 percent of both the entering class and all undergraduates who are residents of the United States.

The ��С��, Davis, offered freshman and transfer admission to a total of 41,299 applicants from the state and beyond for fall 2017.

Admissions statistics for the university system and campuses were released today (July 6).

Summer Strategy: More Courses, More Enrollment

The campus plans to increase its summer course offerings by as much as 10 percent as one way to increase Summer Sessions enrollment and help students earn their degrees more quickly.

Other strategies being explored include offering financial incentives and increasing the financial aid available for summer.

UC Initiative to Help Campuses Increase Student Housing

A team from the UC Office of the President began visiting campuses on Jan. 22 to help advance a systemwide housing initiative aimed at supporting the existing student population and future enrollment growth.

President Janet Napolitano announced the initiative during her opening remarks at the Board of Regents meeting last week. She aims to expand the pool of student housing over the next four years, and to accelerate the timetable for completing student housing developments that are already in the planning phase.

Campus prepares for large influx of students in 2016-17

The campus is marshaling its efforts and resources to accommodate 2016-17 enrollment growth of 1,100 new undergraduates beyond last fall's entering class.

The campus is responding to targets that UC President Janet Napolitano set under a plan to increase systemwide enrollment of new California undergraduates by 10,000 over the next three years, including 5,000 freshmen and transfer students in 2016-17.
