But ��С�� experts have empirically analyzed the complexities of these vocal performances, based on pitch patterns and speed, volume, pauses, repetition and other characteristics. Now researchers are analyzing the performances of 101 African American women poets.

White House Summit at ��С�� to Feature African American Student Voices

What:

African American students will speak about what they need to succeed in education at a White House Summit on Educational Excellence for African Americans.

The California Student Aid Commission and the ��С��, Davis, are partnering with the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans to present the event.

The by-invitation-only event is expected to draw together about 250 students, educators, community leaders, policymakers and others.

WHAT: ��С�� will celebrate the opening of its Center for African Diaspora Student Success with a ceremony featuring African drumming and dancing.

At the heart of the campus's new African-American Initiative, the center will facilitate many services -- including on-site tutoring, academic advising and mental health counseling -- to support those historically underrepresented in higher education.
