HEALTHY UC DAVIS: Breastfeeding Work/Month at ��С��

��С��’ Breastfeeding Support Program is turning World Breastfeeding Week into a month of presentations and a panel discussion on the Davis and Sacramento campuses. All events are free and open to the ��С�� community and wider community as well.

HEALTHY UC DAVIS: Food Access Map, ‘Stigma-Free’ and Diabetes Prevention

Students have developed a digital map “to make it easier for ��С�� community members to find food on campus that meets their needs,” including free food. Also, the “Stigma-Free UC” initiative will present a webinar, Wednesday (May 23), on the topic of mental health awareness, and the Staff and Faculty Health and Well-Being Program announces a Diabetes Prevention Program with an introductory meeting set for June 28.

HEALTHY UC DAVIS: Fruits and Veggies, Bike Riding and More

Spring break is short, but that’s a good thing, considering all the good things that the new quarter will bring for your health and well-being — things like the ��С�� Farmers Market and the new Fruit and Veggie Fan Club (which will distribute vouchers for farmers market purchases), and classes on bike riding, stress management and financial well-being.

HEALTHY UC DAVIS: Stigma, Decisions and Drummers

A webinar is set for Thursday (Feb. 22) about ending stigma surrounding mental illness, and March will bring a workshop on “Honoring Your Health Care Decisions” and a new Well-Being Ticket Deal (to see Yamato: The Drummers of Japan).

Also, for those of you signed up for the next Gentle Lunchtime Yoga series, take note: The start date has been pushed back a week to Tuesday, Feb. 27. Registration opened in January, and the class is full. The new dates are Feb. 27, and March 6, 13 and 19.

The Staff and Faculty Health and Well-Being Program announced a “Preventing Diabetes” class and a new series of Gentle Lunchtime Yoga, and, as it’s almost the first of the month — your Well-Being Ticket Deal for February!

“Preventing Diabetes: Living Healthy” — 6-8 p.m. Monday (Feb. 5), Hoagland Hall, presented in partnership with ��С�� Health.

A survey is coming this week to all faculty, staff and students, asking for their opinions on ��С��’ Smoke and Tobacco Free policy. Plus we have news about free flu shots and the first Well-Being Ticket Deal of the year.

Also, “gatekeeper training” is being offered to faculty and staff to help them assist students with mental health concerns.

‘Tap’ Into Your Well-Being Ticket Deal

The Well-Being Ticket Deal is back — an opportunity for staff and faculty members to get seats for $10 for selected shows at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts.

The first deal is for Dorrance Dance, a tap-dance company, Sunday, Oct. 29. Seven more offers will be announced monthly the rest of the year.
