While air quality problems caused ��С��������������� to close the campus and cancel classes along with some important rehearsals, the shows must go on, and we have an update on postponements and new schedules to get us right back in the swing of things.  

The campus is reopening just in time for Jazz Week, with two concerts scheduled:

• Jazz Combos — Six combos, to be exact, showcasing more than 40 student musicians. The combos will perform in ensembles such as the Aretha Franklin Ensemble, the Herbie Hancock Ensemble, the Latin Jazz Ensemble and the Snarky Puppy Ensemble. 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, Recital Hall, . Free.
• Big Bands — Featuring the music of Aretha Franklin, plus Latin Jazz and Jazz Funk Fusion, and the premiere of Inauguration Day, a suite by Jácam Manricks, the Jazz Bands’ director, who based the new work on a composition of his titled “Cry.” 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, Recital Hall, .

After a 10-year hiatus, the Chamber Singers of ����������������� are back, re-established by Caleb Lewis, lecturer and director of choirs. The singers will perform at 5 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 28), in the Recital Hall. (This free performance was previously scheduled as a Shinkoskey Noon Concert.)

Comedian , a frequent panelist on NPR’s weekly news quiz show Wait, Wait … Don’t Tell Me, will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, Jackson Hall, . The program notes: “She improvises like a jazz musician, swinging in unexpected directions without a plan, without a net. There’s a disarming ease in her craft, an immediate sense that she's so quick on her feet you need never worry about the possibility of something going wrong.”

Closed, canceled, rescheduled

The Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art will reopen Tuesday, Nov. 27, resuming regular hours through Dec. 23. The museum called off its Art Studio Labs last weekend, and has canceled this weekend’s labs as well.

The dance performance, a new work featuring graduate and undergraduate students, is now on for Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 6-8, at 7 o’clock nightly, with an additional performance at 2 p.m. Dec. 8, in Main Theatre, . Video above: Every-Body, No-Body is in rehearsal and will be performed a week later than previously scheduled.

The choreographers are Kota Yamazaki and Mina Nishimura, whose work is strongly rooted in “butoh,” a form of Japanese dance theatre. They are Granada artists in residence this quarter in the Department of Theatre and Dance.
