* Nov. 15, Saturday -- Eagles, hawks, owls and other birds of prey will be featured Saturday in a public open house at the California Raptor Center at °×С½ãÍõÖÐÍõ¿ª½±½á¹û. Parking and admission are free. The best visuals for media may occur during docent presentations, which will include uncaged birds perched on a docent's fist, at 10 a.m. and noon. Other activities: "Early bird" visitors may attend a guided Hawk Walk from 8-9 a.m. The center's small museum and exhibits of live raptors will be open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The 's mission is to rehabilitate injured birds of prey and teach raptor-care skills to avian scientists and veterinary students. It receives more than 250 injured or ill raptors each year and is able to release over 65 percent of these birds back into the wild. Directions: From Interstate 80 in Davis, take the °×С½ãÍõÖÐÍõ¿ª½±½á¹û exit and head south on Old Davis Road (away from the main campus). Continue past the railroad tracks and turn left at the top of the levee. Drive a short distance on the paved levee road, then turn left diagonally and down into the center's parking lot.
